Carrefour, which announced major restructuring in Belgium, will hold in several Balkan countries in partnership with the Greek company Marinopoulos.
Both distributors will develop a network of hyper-and supermarkets under the Carrefour brand Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Albania. The joint venture created for the occasion is 60% owned by Marinopoulos and 40% by another joint venture equally owned by Carrefour and Marinopoulos. Supermarkets commonly held in Bulgaria will also be linked to this new set. Marinopoulos and Carrefour are also partners in Greece and Cyprus.
